A BRIEF ABOUT US
UAENRE was initiated in 2016 by the alumni of the Faculty of Natural Resource Economics at Busitema University, after the government of Uganda launched the BSc. Natural Resource Economics at the University in 2010 with an aim of promoting the sustainable valuation, exploitation and use of environmental and natural resources in Uganda considering the economic, social and environmental aspects. In 2021 the association was fully registered for its operation, and embarked on its aim of promoting and strengthening the profession of environmental and natural resource economists in Uganda.
“UAENRE is committed to critically evaluating, analysing and deepening the understanding of global environmental issues from an economic perspective. Our efforts are geared at informing future public policy in relation to the environment.”
