Lifestyles Driving Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Join Climate Experts for the UAENRE X Space Discussion on May 17, 2025!

Introduction

In the era of escalating climate concerns, our lifestyles play a critical role in shaping the future of our planet. With this in mind, the Uganda Association of Environmental and Natural Resource Economists (UAENRE) is committed to promoting sustainable practices in Environment and Natural Resource Management through valuation, sustainable exploitation and use of natural resources in Uganda. In line with fulfilling this vision, UAENRE is organizing an online discussion on “Lifestyles that Are Contributing To The Increase Of Green House Gas Emissions-Climate Change’’. The sole purpose of the discussion is to bring to the attention of lifestyles that the public is unaware of and yet, they are contributing to climate change.Introduction In the era of escalating climate concerns, our lifestyles play a critical role in shaping the future of our planet. The sole purpose of the discussion is to bring to the attention of lifestyles that the public is unaware of and yet, they are contributing to climate change.

Objectives of the Discussions

  • To identify lifestyles that are contributing to the increase of greenhouse emissions.
  • To assess sustainable lifestyles that reduce carbon footprint or greenhouse emissions.
  • To find out the environmental costs and benefits of each lifestyle choice.
  • To promote UAENRE as an association to the public.

Moderators and Panelists

Our moderator, Stephanie Owembabazi Kakooza, Vice President of UAENRE and EHS Specialist, will lead the discussion. Proposed panelists will consist of one or two members of UAENRE who are climate change practitioners with significant background and experience in climate change studies/projects, along with a climate change activist and a policymaker.

Target Participants

We invite UAENRE members, sister associations, environmental practitioners, activists, policymakers, and all interested individuals to join the discussion. Based on these categories, it is expected that about 1000 participants are to be part of the discussion.
